Batleys Cash and Carry rewards its best
Batleys Cash and Carry, part of the Bestway Group, has made a series of awards to its members staff who have demonstrated the very best in their approach to the job throughout the company's nineteen depots across the UK during the past financial year
The awards are an annual event at Batleys and Martin Race, the firm’s operations director, in announcing the winners said, “The pressure is on everyone, in every type of job, to perform at their very best and I am delighted to be able to single out these five people at Batleys for the terrific contribution they have made to the success of the business as a whole during the past financial year. At Batleys we are a team of people who rely on the input of everyone to make things go well, and these awards are an example of that team spirit working at a hundred per cent.”
The awards are made by senior staff on a range of subject areas that account for the success of the day to day running of the business, from sales and financial results to staff motivation and health and safety, all compared to last year’s efforts.
Each prize winner was presented with a trophy and a cash prize, which in some instances is presented to the staff social club, so all members of the branch staff can share in the reward. The awards were presented at the Huddersfield Batleys Central office.
The Batleys Cash and Carry Awards for 2008 are:
Depot of the year – Cleveland - General Manager, David Bolam.
Runner up of depot of the year – Birmingham
Most improved depot of the year – Liverpool
Head Office manager of the year – Charlotte John, financial accounts manager, Huddersfield office
Depot manager of the year – Anton Jones, General Manager of the newly opened Gillingham branch.
