A lovely initiative from a husband and wife team

Last month (April) we received an email with the following message:

“Two weeks ago, I started a JustGiving page to help raise funds for care packs we wanted to donate to the front line of Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow, Northwest London. What started off as a small initiative has now got the capacity to make a real difference and positive impact for the welfare of the NHS staff.

“Our frontline Heroes of the NHS, some of which are my personal friends and colleagues, risking their lives daily to provide invaluable support to the community, sacrificing time away from their own family including their own young children.

“I am reaching out to business leaders to help where possible, ideally to support with some key items required in the 1000 care packs we are aiming to distribute.”

Our wonderful frontline stars in Abbey road depot responded by providing the following items free of charge:

• 44 cases of Mars Bars (48 bars per case = 2,112 bars in total)
• 84 cases of MOUNT AQUA STILL SPRING Water 500ml (24 bottles per case = 2,016 bottles in total)

And today (May) we received a lovely message in response:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for all the support in donating the water bottles and chocolate bars.

“We collected them last Friday and are due to distribute them as soon as possible. We will send you photographs once we have delivered them to the staff at Northwick Park hospital.

“Once again, thank you for your kindness and your generosity to support our frontline NHS health workers. Take care and stay safe, and Ramadan Kareem to you and your family.”

Well done to all the frontline stars involved – especially the husband and wife team behind this initiative.
