This is a crisp, stylish Chardonnay featuring lively, tropical over-tones and a zesty finish.
This wine shows lifted aromas of fresh peach, citrus and honeydew melon with an underlying hint of nougat and nutmeg spice.
Wyndham Hill Smith found Oxford Landing in 1958 on the banks of the River Murray, South Australia. The winery has matured into one of Australia's most innovative viticultural estates, delivering flavours that reflects the unique vineyard terroir. Oxford Landing vineyard near the South Australian town of Waikerie is an idyllic place, distinguished by clear blue skies, rich red soil and sunshine - the perfect environment for growing grapes. This Chardonnay has real complexity and texture for a wine at this price. Some of the wine is fermented using ‘wild yeast', a little is left on lees, some has malo-lactic fermentation, and a portion of reserve wine, aged in French oak hogsheads.

|Vinification Details||Oxford Landing Estates Chardonnay is grown on the banks on the Murray River on a range of red sandy soils over limestone. Winemaking is focused on minimal intervention with use of wild yeasts and subtle oak to give the Chardonnay depth, complexity and personality. Aromas of freshly ripe stone fruit with hints of grapefruit and lemon. The wine has a wonderfully even texture on the palate with balanced acidity offering a crisp, clean wine with persistent and tantalising vibrant acidity. Perfect with chicken or seafood.|
|History||In the late 1800s the Murray River was a thriving trade highway with commercial paddle steamers transporting wheat, wool and household supplies. One such paddle steamer met with an untimely end when a fire reduced it to ashes. Among the wreckage was a singed sign carrying the name of the boat ‘The City of Oxford'. Then on, the area was known as Oxford Landing. In 1958, winemaking visionary Wyndham Hill Smith sank a spade into the riverside dirt. He believed this fertile red soil and bountiful sunshine would be ideal for growing premium grape varieties, and Oxford Landing Estates was born.|
