New products launched in best-one own-label range

Bestway Wholesale has announced the addition of eight NEW, great-value products to its best-one own label range for independent retailers, including five confectionary lines and three variants of rice. These products offer a minimum 30% POR and consistently high quality, alongside the existing 300+ products within the best-one own label range.

Kenton Burchell, trading director Bestway Wholesale said: “Consumer demand for own-label products continues to rise and we are fully committed to offering a high-quality range for retailers to stock in their store. Our best-one own label range provides retailers with excellent value and high-quality products across multiple categories and when stocking the range across the store, retailers will create consistent value. All the products are price marked to help with value perception too.”

The new products have been developed to meet retailer demand and to fill gaps in the range where products didn’t previously exist. The best-one rice variants come in 500g block packs for easy display and include Basmati, Easy Cook and Long Grain rice, in three different coloured bags for easy recognition of the variant. The products are price-marked from 79p each, improving value perception too. These three NEW best-one rice variants complement the existing range of branded rice and White Pearl rice which is also a Bestway owned rice brand.

The own-label confectionary lines Bestway has launched include best-one White Chocolate Buttons and best-one Milk Chocolate Giant Buttons, both in 70g format and best-one Strawberry Laces, best-one Rainbow Belts and best-one Strawberry Pencils, available in 80g bags. The sweets are competitively priced at 59p each or 2 for £1. The sweets contain no artificial colours, are Halal and suitable for vegetarians.

Both the chocolate and sweet products come in individual hanging bags, making them easy for retailers to display in store. Each bag has a window front so that consumers can see the product inside. The packaging has a picture of the product on the front too. Colour has been used in the packaging to distinguish flavours, with red for strawberry, purple with multi-coloured writing for rainbow belts, orange for the white chocolate buttons and blue for milk chocolate, which matches the existing 100g chocolate bars already in the best-one range.

Burchell adds: “We know from our retailers that these are growing categories in the market and a gap previously existed in our range for hanging bag sweets and own-label rice, to sit alongside our existing White Pearl rice and rice from other leading suppliers.

“We continually listen to our retailers as to what their customers are asking for, and further to understanding day-to-day needs against a backdrop of rising raw material prices such is the case for rice, we have responded by launching products which close the current gap and represent excellent value to the end consumer.”

The best-one own-label range contains over 300 products which has been built on quality, choice, value and price.  The range includes ambient, frozen and chilled goods for retailers, including a recently launched range of 10 chilled ready meals. The best-one range is also complemented by a range of premium own-label best-one inspired products; the only premium own label range in the convenience market, which includes Hand Cooked Crisps, Conserve and Tinned Cherry Tomatoes.

The confectionary lines are available on the Bestway and best-one websites now.

The rice products will launch in mid-September 2019.
