Bestway scoops two major awards at the FWD annual awards
Bestway Wholesale celebrated a terrific night at yesterday's Federation of Wholesale Distributor's (FWD) annual dinner winning two prestigious awards.
Over 700 guests, the key figures from the wholesale channel, saw Managing Director Younus Sheikh collect the top award of Gold Medal for Wholesale Service to Retail and Naveed Anwar receive the Depot Team of the Year award for his Team Valley branch
The judges were impressed by how we as a group have ‘revamped [our] support for customers through [our] Xtra Local Retail Club and adopted digital platforms for communicating with retailers’. Judges also commented on our investment into Best-one’s My Rewards loyalty programme which ‘encourages retailers to focus on growth drivers within convenience’.
Younus Sheikh commented, “To win the Wholesale Service Gold Medal is a resounding testament to the dedication and high quality service that our staff offer our retail customers. The Gold Medal award is for us all; from head office staff and general managers to delivery drivers and BDEs. I thank you all for your continued support and let’s carry on this great work into 2015.”
Younus also had praise for Naveed Anwar and his team at Team Valley, “Team Valley is a great example of how friendly service and a great atmosphere in the depot can engage customers and energise business. Naveed and his team have done a wonderful job and on behalf of the board, I offer our sincerest congratulations. I would also like to commend David Howe of Batleys Bellevue in Edinburgh and Fida Hussain of Bestway Brighton who both made it on to the shortlist for the Gold Medal Awards which in itself is a fantastic achievement. Regardless, they too have demonstrated outstanding performances over the past year, and deserve to be recognised and congratulated.”
