Xtra Local Bryn Stores new wheels gets celebrity status
Xtra Local retail club member Phil Bryn of Bryn Stores in Cardiff can't talk up his new set of wheels strongly enough.
Ever keen to take on any new business that might be around, Phil and his wife, Dianne, who have run their business for three years have just taken delivery of their first van.
"We have a number of elderly customers in the area and we want to look after them in the best way we can so we have invested in this delivery van to take our shop to them. Within weeks the van has taken on a celebrity status in the community. We have increased our general business through having the van and word is spreading fast. When we first opened our store in January 2009, we took £97 the first day, I wondered what we had done, nowadays we are doing around £10,000 a week and more. Working with Batleys Xtra Local Retail Club has changed our business and now we have been awarded a Lottery licence by Camelot so its getting better all the time."
Since becoming an Xtra Local Retail Club member a year ago, Phil's business has increased by 25 percent. Phil adds, "I feel the uplift in the business has been greatly helped by the very strong branding that the Xtra Local fascia has given to the store with its professional look and strong appearance and only enhances what we aim to deliver on a daily basis."
